What Is the Virginia Datathon?
A Data Competition
Teams of 2–6 college students or Virginia state employees use publicly available data to tackle a real policy challenge facing the Commonwealth.
A Real Problem to Solve
Each year, the Datathon centers on a pressing issue affecting Virginians. In 2026, teams will analyze open data to generate insights and propose solutions related to building a more affordable Virginia.
An Inclusive Community
Open to students from any Virginia college or university, and employees of any state agency.
